Rex Healthcare Foundation (RHF) is the private, not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support essential programs and services at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. RHF came to us in Summer 2011 to help them establish and maintain an annual fund. At the time, there wasn’t any consistency to the fundraising requests from Rex and donors weren’t used to hearing from them. Also, the Foundation had been dormant for about 10 years and depended on two annual fundraising events (a golf tournament and gala) to bring in most of the yearly funding for Rex Healthcare.
RHF attempted a number of different segmented mailings in Fall 2010. Because they had not sent out requests in a such a long time, there was a fairly good response rate. When more segmented mailings were then sent out in Spring 2011, the response rate dropped more than 90 percent to .312%.
RHF needed a new strategy for the way they communicated with donors and acquired first time supporters. We stepped in to help establish a fundraising strategy moving forward, which included creative concept, strategic copywriting, graphic design, project management, and print coordination and supervision.
